Rapper Big Pooh brings visuals for “Stop”, produced by Apollo Brown. The video looks at the ongoing oppression faced by the Black community at the hands of police in the U.S.
Big Pooh was a member of the acclaimed North Carolina hip hop group Little Brother. Around this time, he was also developing his solo career and had signed a two-album deal with independent label Mello Music Group.
“Stop” is taken from Pooh’s Words Paint Pictures EP, which was released in March 2015 through Mello Music Group.
The project is entirely produced by Apollo Brown and features Ras Kass, Blakk Soul, Steve Roxx, Marv Won and others.
The collaborations add different voices to the project, while Apollo Brown’s production gives the EP a consistent backdrop. The record also moves into personal and social themes, with Big Pooh using his writing to reflect on the issues surrounding him.
L’Orange contributes a remix, while Marv Won and Ras Kass add their own perspectives to the project.
