Future Frequencies presenters join Camden Windrush Homecoming Celebration as two young broadcasters from the Itch Radio “Future Frequencies” Broadcasting Workshops take their skills from the radio studio to a major community event in Camden.
Michaela Kay and Baby Cey recently completed the “Future Frequencies” programme. Now, they will take part in the Windrush Homecoming Celebration courtesy of Camden Council on Saturday 20th June 2026 at Talacre Gardens. Love Camden organises the event to celebrate the rich Caribbean heritage, culture and community spirit that continues to shape the borough.

During the celebration, Michaela Kay (above) and Baby Cey (below) will DJ and interview guests on stage. As a result, both presenters can build on the communication and broadcasting skills they developed through Future Frequencies.
Furthermore, this opportunity demonstrates the value of giving young people practical experience in creative media. It also allows them to apply their skills in a live public setting.

Itch Radio delivered the Future Frequencies workshops in partnership with The Apex Project, courtesy of Camden Council. Throughout the programme, participants learned how to use professional radio equipment, create content and present live on air.
In addition, they developed confidence behind the microphone and produced their own radio shows. Consequently, participants gained valuable experience that can support future education, employment and creative opportunities.
Now, Michaela Kay and Baby Cey are taking the next step. They will engage with audiences, interview guests and perform live at one of Camden’s most popular community celebrations.
A special shout-out to our workshop tutor Nigel Hosten aka Mr Dex, thank you for your dedication, expertise, and the energy you brought to every session.

The Windrush Homecoming Celebration returns to Talacre Gardens, 13 Talacre Rd, London NW5 3PH on Saturday 20th June 2026 from 12pm to 6pm. The free event will feature:
Moreover, the Love Camden organised event brings local residents and visitors together in the borough of Camden to celebrate the lasting contribution of the Windrush generation.

Future Frequencies presenters joining Camden Windrush Homecoming Celebration highlights the positive impact of creative media projects. Through opportunities like these, young people can build confidence, gain employability skills and access new experiences.
For Itch Radio CIC, this achievement marks an important milestone. Workshop participants started by learning radio skills in the studio. They are now performing and interviewing at a major community event.

Ultimately, this progression reflects Itch Radio’s commitment to supporting young people through creative media. It also demonstrates how creative projects can help participants develop skills, confidence and pathways into the creative industries.
